HRM settles firehouse human rights complaint

The Halifax Regional Municipality is opening up the purse-strings to settle a gender discrimination complaint from former volunteer firefighter Liane Tessier in order to avoid a costly N.S. Human Rights Commission hearing. The settlement includes an undisclosed bucket of taxpayers money and an apology, making the human rights hearing thingy unnecessary.
