As these things tend to be it was political theatre at its very finest.
Much of the rhetoric was over-the-top, some of the jokes fell flat. There was no shortage of politicians wearing novelty socks, catchy slogans, funny hats, tee-shirts, Nova Scotia tartan, cowbells, thundersticks.

The thousands of Liberal Trained Seals applauded on cue. The self-congratulations, handshaking and backslapping were effusive. If not nauseating.
