We aren’t sure why we need him, but Nova Scotia’s 33rd Lieutenant Governor has nevertheless been sworn in. Arthur Joseph Leblanc is the first person of Acadian heritage to occupy the position. John James Grant, whose heritage, as far as I know, has never been mentioned, held the vice-regal torch since 2012.

When she opens up the mic for the last break of her show tomorrow morning on 89.9 The Wave, it will be interesting to hear if Denyse Sibley makes mention of the fact that she won't be coming back on the air after the long weekend.

Denyse, a Nova Scotia radio mainstay since 1981 - and for the vast majority of that time, Halifax's Queen of Country - is leaving radio behind.
